Fundraising Auction for Ross-shire Red Kites

In March 2014, news came in of the discovery of several Red Kites who had died in Ross-shire, Scotland. The number of carcasses found continued to rise over the next few weeks, eventually totalling 16 Red Kites and six Buzzards. Many have since been confirmed as having died from poisoning.

I’m aiming to raise funds for the RSPB by auctioning my original Red Kite drawing and the money raised will go towards benefiting the Red Kites in the Ross-shire area or the RSPB investigations team, both worthy causes. I love raptor watching, and I find the on-going persecution of our wonderful birds of prey heartbreaking. I hope this auction will raise a nice sum for the Kites.

To find out more about the Red Kites in Ross-shire, please watch this video, a tribute to those who lost their lives, and the ones who still grace the skies.

Thanks to Tollie Red Kites volunteer Andrea Goddard and RSPB’s Brad Chappell for their help.

A big Thank You to everyone who very kindly placed a bid on my auction. It has raised £70 to help the RSPB and Ross-shire Red Kites. Also, thanks to everyone who shared it on Facebook and Twitter and helped to spread the word.
